James' work, both personal and commercial, reflects his untraditional journey into the creative industry; and thus provides an oblique perspective and approach to the avenues of his creative output.

After graduating in 2005 from the London College of Printing in the field of Typography, James worked with the likes of Neville Brody, Why Not Associates and RSA Films before joining United Visual Artists in 2004 where he worked as designer, cinematographer and photographer until 2010. Since then James set up his own practice to concentrate on lens based methodologies to explore his creative ideas.

Schooled in 3D Design, Photography and Cinematography, his unique palate of experiences enable highly technical and creative concepts to fuse as an idea in both concept and creation. James works in the mediums of physical design, photography and predominantly motion picture

His most creative projects employ the use of time as a temporal medium; using a variety of timing and lighting techniques to explore the seemingly invisible and new techniques in perceiving the world.

As Director of Photography his past experiences help accomplish the hardest cinematic tasks for those wishing to push the boundaries of technology and perception.
